Wist(ful). With @tremblingadored.
Jack is both a good friend and an excellent supporter. I always appreciate her kind words. I’ll confess that it is often a fine line between being honest and sounding petulant. Feel free to let me know if I ever cross that line. Also no one should ever feel obligated to comment or give feedback. It’s always appreciated but I think I’m big enough to not pack in my marbles and go home otherwise. For all the feedback back I’ve gotten, thank you. I appreciate it.
Tumblr is interesting though. Beauty Shooter has commented about the tension between those who create and those who curate on Tumblr. Ruzz laments about the contributory nature of Tumblr to the decline of true female empowerment.
As for me? Here’s the thing — I generally follow two kinds of tumblogs: those of people I’d like to get to know / do know and those of creators. I have a real reluctance to reblog posts unless I feel I need to comment on the post or it’s something I think really should be shared. Mostly I want to contribute to the creation of new imagery rather than the repurposing of existing ideas. And there are times I think what a wonderful thing we have where the barriers to publishing creative works have been all but demolished. But I fear that amidst the constant repurposing and retransmitting, new and original voices are being lost. And there are times when I think it’s just high school, all over again. I have yet to resolve all of this in my head. But one cannot contribute to the solution without participating.
So see you next time.
